You are booking a holiday in Paris. You need a Paris hotel and before you've even selected a date or a plane ticket, a movie plays in your head. You are staying in gorgeous lodging. It is a breathtaking resort with a free spa and a view of the Eiffel Tower. Jacques your bellboy brings you a croissant and a glass of wine each morning and -hey! French men really do have those little moustaches. But after booking your flight, the travel website you're checking out gives you pages upon pages of results for hotels that you can make reservations at. Which leads you to Jacques and which leads you to a dump that makes your first apartment look like heaven?
Have a plan in your head when choosing your Paris hotel. Do you want a hotel or a motel? The average price for a two or three star Paris hotels is $80-100. If money is no object, what amenities do you want? Make a list of what is important to you and ask your business partners and your family for feedback. Something that may not seem important now becomes integral when you reach your accommodations. Amenities that may be important include a business center, dry cleaning, internet access, a pool, recreation for your family and a place to work out. Do the staffs members at the hotel speak English or will they be trying to decipher your bumbling French?
Read the hotel reviews available on the various travel and sites to figure out which place in Paris is right for you. Everybody likes to leave their two cents and have somebody value their opinion, so you'll have a wealth of information about all the Paris hotels. Look for reviews that match up with your lifestyle: Traveling alone, traveling with a family, business travel, etc. Many travel sites also offer a professional review on hotels so that you can take the word of a professional who knows what to look for, not just the word of a teenager who stayed in a youth hostel and thought the lodging rocked.
